20 Weeks!

I just can't believe that this pregnancy is half way over and that I'm 20 weeks already. I'm thrilled, but sad too. I can't wait to meet Cor.ben.... wait, I don't think that I ever announced that! Sorry folks, please forgive me and chalk it up to a major case of pregnancy brain (which has been raging lately). Our little guy will be named Cor.ben Eli.jah. It's such a relief to finally have a name picked out. I was beginning to think that we would never agree on one. So, I can't wait to meet Cor.ben, but at the same time I'm going to really miss being pregnant. Even though there have definitely been some not so fun parts (I'm saying a big OUCH to ligament pain as we speak) it has all been such a blessing and I love feeling him move and kick and I love sporting this baby bump.

Nothing has really changed from last week except I've been feeling really tired again, nauseous, and I've had some wicked ligament pain. Also, this week I kept waking up in the morning with swollen eyes, nose, upper lip, hands, and feet. At first I just thought maybe it was allergies, but I got scared too that maybe I was beginning a Lupus flare and that my kidney's were beginning to act up. This morning was so much better so I'm hoping that it's just allergies, but will be checking with my doctor just in case.

All of our nursery furniture is officially here and in place. DH and I had so much fun putting everything together and deciding where it should go. Now we just need to paint our bookshelf, finish the border (it's on back order and we only had enough for one wall, UGH!), and get the accent pieces. I'm really excited and it's looking great in here so far. I promise that I'll post some pictures once everything is together.

19 Weeks

How Far Along? 19 weeks.

Total Weight Gained/Loss? 20 lbs!!!! WHAT! My doctor said that it's fine, but that seems like a lot to me.

Maternity Clothes? Yes and it's time to buy some more.

Sleep? That's no longer going so great. It takes me awhile to fall asleep and I wake up several times in the early morning hours. Yesterday I woke up at 5 am and couldn't fall asleep again until 6:30 am .

Best Moment of the Week? Having a great doctors appointment today and hearing the doctor say that I'm doing really great.

Movement? YES! Lots of movement.

Food Cravings? Chocolate cake, orange juice, Fruit Harvest cereal, rootbeer

Food aversions? Chicken.

Morning sickness? I still get it a little bit, but it's so much better.

Gender? We found out last Thursday that we're having a boy!

Labor Signs? NO, NO, NO and let's keep it that way.

Belly Button? It's popping its little head out now.

What I miss: wine & coffee. I still won't let myself drink caffeinated coffee, but I was so tempted today. I know it's okay, but I just can't do it.

What I'm looking forward to: Hitting the half way point next week.

Milestones? Finding out the gender & my belly button popping.

I've also noticed that my ankles are starting to swell. I thought that wouldn't happen until later.

This week we got the crib mattress and changing table/dresser delivered
that my dad and his wife got for us. The crib should be here within the next few days! I can't wait! I'm so excited to see the nursery come together.

DH has also gotten bit by the nesting bug and is organizing EVERYTHING. He reorganized his dresser and the way that he folds his clothes, he rearranged all of our products in the shower (why????), and we did a complete spring cleaning and org
anized everything in our house and threw out a lot of stuff. He bought a shelving unit and installed it in LO's closet for more storage space and bought a bathroom floor cabinet so that we could have more storage space in our second bathroom.

I'm glad that we're getting so much done so soon. Hopefully I will be able to just relax and enjoy my 3rd trimester without having to worry about doing a lot of preparation.

Here's a picture of me at 19 weeks thinking "WOW! This belly is just growing and growing". I can't wait to see what it looks like in the 3rd trimester.

SHOPPING!

As decided DH and I went out today to buy an outfit for LO in celebration of finding out the gender. We each picked out something and I think they're so cute! We had said that we were each going to pick out ONE outfit, but both ended up getting a set because they're so cute and so cheap.

Here's what I picked out:

Here's what DH picked out:

Look at the bib... "Cutest cowboy in town", aww

and I have to comment on the adorable footsies!

We also bought some stuff for storage and space saving since we live in a 2 bedroom apartment. It's a lot of work, but it's so much fun getting ready for our baby! I'm still in shock that this is me right now! All the thanks goes to God.

We're Having A....

BOY!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so over-the-moon excited. DH and I were right in our predictions! He wasn't shy at all about flashing his business. That's my son! The rest of the ultrasound went really well and everything looks great. I can't wait to go buy some boy stuff. Here are some pictures of my beautiful.... umm I mean handsome... son.

Our Nursery & My Generous Family

I already know that we're going to get spoiled rotten from my extended family during the baby shower (March 27th), but I just found out that my Dad and his wife just bought our crib, mattress, and changing table/dresser. You guys know how expensive that stuff is! I'm beyond excited/blown away/grateful/ecstatic and the emotions just go on and on!

DH and I are big planners and when we have a task in front of us we like to tackle it and get it done. As soon as we found out we were expecting we started planning the nursery, painted it, and planned out the order of decorations and accessories that we would buy. I'm so EXCITED and relieved that by the end of this month our nursery will be almost completely put together. All of our big furniture pieces will be in place and we'll only have to worry about the small stuff. YAY! Thank you family and most of all thank you Lord for making all of this possible. Thank you for the wonderful husband, supportive family, beautiful life, and for the little miracle you planted in my womb. Thank you for all of the numerous blessings that you have provided me with before I've even thought to ask you for them. I love you!

P.S. Our big u/s is tomorrow!!!! I'm so excited.

Here are some pictures of our nursery and furniture. I know it's not everyone's style, but DH and I love it.

18 Weeks!

What an exciting week! For the past few days I've felt more distinctive kicks and poor DH has been so anxious to feel something. This afternoon I was laying down trying to take a nap and I felt the baby kicking up a storm and s/he kept at it for at least 10 minutes. I was so scared that I would call DH in and then the baby would stop kicking and DH would be disappointed again. I called him in anyways and he totally felt it! YIPPEE! We're both so excited and so in love. Feeling those big kicks is the most amazing feeling ever. I'm looking forward to when we can hold and kiss this little miracle. DH just sat there smiling at each other while the baby kicked. LO kept it up all afternoon. In other big news we find out the gender on Thursday! That's going to be super amazing!!!! I can't wait!!

How Far Along? 18 weeks

Total Weight Gained/Loss? Last week it was 14 lbs!

Maternity Clothes? Oh yeah and they're so comfortable.

Sleep? So far so good. I do wake up frequently in the morning hours, but it's nothing to complain about yet.

Best Moment of the Week? DH and I getting to feel kicks and finding out the gender on Thursday.

Movement? YES! Flutters and kicks!

Food Cravings? Tons of orange juice, blow pops, orange fruit cups, Fruit Harvest cereal

Food aversions? Chicken

Morning sickness? I still get it a little bit, but it's so much better

Gender? We find out Thursday. I think boy, but I just don't know

Labor Signs? NO, NO, NO and let's keep it that way

Belly Button? A very shallow innie

What I miss: I've really been missing not being able to have a glass of wine or a cup of coffee. I know that they say these are okay when used minimally, but I can't bring myself to do it

What I'm looking forward to: Our big u/s this week!

Milestones? Feeling big kicks inside and outside

What A Good Day

I've had such an awesome day today! I got a bunch of awesome maternity clothes in the mail from my mom and also some gifts for the baby from my sister. She got me some stuff from my registry that I was really hoping to get. I love my family!

I also had an appointment today for LO. Everything's great with him (or her) and we get to find out the gender in 8 more days! I'm so excited! DH and I also hung up the valance and curtain today for the nursery and repainted a shelf (that my grandfather built for me when I was a little girl) and hung that up. Everything is really starting to come together and I'm so excited. I feel so happy, blessed, and extremely grateful. God is amazing.

So, today I am 17 weeks and 1 day pregnant. I've gained 14 lbs so far and I think that my face is starting to get rounder. I hope that it doesn't get too bad. I just can't believe how fast time is passing by. I can't wait to let you guys know the big news in 8 days!!!!
